‘Sweet Taste of Darkness’ to participate at MIYVMF

Iranian short ‘Sweet Taste of Darkness’ is to participate at the Meihodo Int’l Youth Visual Media Festival in the US.

Iranian short film ‘Sweet Taste of Darkness’ is set to participate at the Meihodo International Youth Visual Media Festival (MIYVMF) in the US.

‘Sweet Taste of Darkness’, written and directed by Mitra Raees-Mohammadi, will be screened at the 4th edition of MIYVMF, the Iranian Youth Cinema Society said.

The film is about “a seven-year-old boy who identifies with the character of Batman,” according to a synopsis for the film.

The MIYVMF is an independent film festival. It is hosted by the Japanese corporation, Meihodo Inc., which is “working to support and promote young international creators and provide a platform for cultural conversations between film producers from all over the world”, the website of the event reads.

The festival aims to “bring young visual artists from around the world together to celebrate the art of filmmaking”.

The annual festival debuted in Japan in 2018.

This year’s edition of the festival is set to be organized through Meihodo’s US headquarters in New York City.

The 2022 edition of the MIYVMF will announce the winners on February 22.
